The community center is home to two skating rinks, and several other recreational facilities. Winding through the eastern part of the community is the Silver Springs Golf Course.

Besides sports activities, the local community center hosts a preschool program, as well as before and after activities for the kids attending the elementary school. This is all an example of the way that Silver Springs targets the needs of those with young children. There are both separate and public elementary schools in the area. The elementary school shares the same grounds as the community center, so the kids have access to all of the sports fields and equipment.

This is one of the brightest communities in the Northwest that truly has a lot going for it. Despite its remoteness and the quiet suburban feeling, the Crowfoot C-Trail LRT Station, which is only minutes away, provides quick and easy access to the rest of the city, including downtown.

Homes for sale in Silver Springs are a variety of single family dwellings built when the community was originally established. There are also several townhouses and condominiums on offer. In 2010, about 100 homes sold in Silver Springs for an average price of $430,000. A smaller number of condos sold for an average of $300,000.
